We demonstrate two sampling procedures assisted by machine learning models via regression and classification. The objective is the construction of routines that can be employed for different types of analysis, from finding bounds on the parameter space to accumulating samples in areas of interest. Moreover, for classification, we introduce a boosting technique to improve cases where the initial convergence is slow. The type of results that can be obtained is better explained with the help of a few examples from sampling simple toy models to exploring the parameter space of the two Higgs doublet model.

We will talk about a novel cosmic string simulation approach based on the adaptive lattice fluid mesh refinement (ALFMR) where lattice points behave like a collection of freely moving particles or fluid instead of being confined to fixed positions as those in a typical lattice simulation. The lattice fluid mesh dynamically increases the resolution locally near the string core by attracting lattice particles toward the core using an attractive potential artificially assigned to the string while the total number of lattice points remain fixed. We demonstrate ALFMR by reproducing the result from regular lattice.

In this talk, I will present a new theory of DM, qualitatively different from any existing proposal. I will present a theory, in which DM is made up of a novel form of matter, called “gapped continuum”. While ordinary elementary particles have unique masses - for example, each proton in the universe weighs exactly the same - the mass of DM states in our theory is a continuous parameter. I will present a fully realistic model that describes this DM candidate and its interactions with ordinary particles. The continuum DM can give striking new experimental signatures in colliders and cosmic microwave background measurements, while the strong suppression of direct detection signals reopens the possibility of a Z-mediated dark sector again.

We numerically demonstrate that satellite galaxies in the fuzzy dark matter model have a tendency to form more flattened and corotating satellite systems than in the cold dark matter model due to the dissipation by the gravitational cooling effect of the fuzzy dark matter. We also show that, even with the same set of initial conditions, the number of satellites surviving becomes smaller in the fuzzy dark matter model than the cold dark matter counterpart.

뜨거운 빅뱅 (hot big bang) 우주의 초기 조건을 설명하면서 소위 지평선 문제, 평평함의 문제, 그리고 자기홀극 문제 등을 해결하기 위해 급팽창 시기가 있었다고 현대우주론은 이야기 한다. 급팽창 시기에 이루어진 밀도 요동은 후일 우주의 구조를 만드는 씨앗이 된다. 본 발표에서는 밀도 요동이 급팽창 시기의 ultra-slow-roll 조건 혹은 tachyonic instability로 기인하여 크게 확장되고, 그 결과 원시 블랙홀 이 다수 만들어질 수 있음을 힉스 급팽창 이론의 맥락에서 소개하고 이로부터 우주의 암흑물질 문제가 해결 될 수 있음을 이야기한다.

초대칭 틀 안에서 표준모형을 최소한으로 확장한 것을 최소초대칭 표준모형(Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model – MSSM)이라고 한다. 이 모형은 U(1)_{B-L} 게이지 대칭성을 포함하도록 다시 확장될 수 있으며, 이때 B-L 전하를 가진 새로운 힉스장들이 도입된다. 이 힉스장들과 연관되어 나타날 수 있는 열적 가속팽창, 암흑물질, 그리고 중력파에 대하여 이야기하고자 한다.

Belle 실험은 1999년부터 2010년까지 일본 KEK 연구소 KEKB 전자-양전자 충돌기를 사용하여 데이터를 획득하였으며 B 중간자의 CP 대칭성 깨짐을 최초로 발견함으로써 M. Kobayashi 와 T. Maskawa가 2008년 노벨물리학상에 선정되는데 결정적인 기여를 한 바 있다. Belle 실험에 이어 충돌의 휘도를 대폭 높여 flavor 물리의 현안 주제들을 보다 정밀하게 측정하고 새로운 물리법칙의 가능성을 탐색하기 위해 2011년부터 Belle II 실험의 건설이 시작되어 2019년부터 SuperKEKB 전자-양전자 충돌기를 사용하여 Belle II 실험이 시작되었다. 이 발표에서는 최근 Belle 과 Belle II 실험에서 얻어진 물리 결과 중 dark sector에 관한 내용들을 소개한다.

We introduce the Full Event Interpretation (FEI) at Belle II experiment. This method is developed for the research based on SuperKEKB accelerator and Belle II detector. The analyses with Belle II detector are to precisely measure the Standard Model (SM) and to find the evidence of the New Physics beyond the SM are in progress. Since the center-of-mass energy (√s) of SuperKEKB accelerator is specified to 10.58 GeV to generate Υ(4S) that decays to the pair of B meson with 96% probability, the analyses with Belle II detector are generally focused on B meson. One of the B meson is regarded and reconstructed as signal, while the other B is not reconstructed. FEI is to reconstruct particles in the event automatically to construct ‘other’ B meson, with boosted decision tree (BDT) method. Since this method allows access of additional information calculated from ‘other’ B, it is possible to improve the quality of events, though in a situation that complete reconstruction of signal B is forbidden due to invisible particles are included in the decay mode. To take the advantage of FEI, a ‘tagging’ method has been used in B meson analyses. We introduce the tagging algorithm of B meson using BDT. We have applied FEI and tested the effect with one of lepton-flavor-violating decay modes with simulated samples.
